Boulevard of The Allies (Pittsburgh, PA) September 2008
The replacement of the two-span Boulevard of the Allies Bridge over Forbes Ave in Oakland, PA consisted of 21 welded plate girders and 510 tons of structural steel. The span over Forbes Ave was erected during night hours to minimize traffic congestion impact to major hospital and universities in the area. -
Rehabilitation of the Shippingport Bridge (SR 168)
This projected was a major rehabilitation of the main truss and replacement of the approach structure of the Shippingport Bridge. The photographs show an emergency retrofit of panel point 38 floor beam. The work comprised of removing a large section of the deteriorated existing floor beam and retrofitting a new 33 ft. section. Rigging this section into place required careful planning and rigging execution to avoid existing bridge members, utilities, and full bridge safety containments previously installed. -
Duquesne Light
Repair of an existing pedestrian walkway over the Ohio River; the walkway cantilevers off the Norfolk Southern Railroad Bridge shown here. The repair/ improvements consisted of a new turnstile, security gates and fencing, new stairs from Carson St. Beam, and miscellaneous repairs over the river. The project required coordination with the Corp. of Engineers, Barge Company, CSX, Norfolk Southern, and the City of Pittsburgh. -
RT 30 Greensburg, PA
This project was the demolition and replacement of a simple span over RT 30 in Greensburg. 247 tons of new structural steel that was curved and heavily skewed was erected over RT 30. All work was done in one weekend working around the clock in 12 hour rotating shifts. -
Mon Fayette Expressway- Section 51B
New dual 4-span structure of the Mon Fayette Espressway over Fan Hollow Rd in Uniontown, PA. -
